EDI training

Active bystander training

Most people want to say something and do not know how. This session gives colleagues rehearsed, realistic options rather than a principle they already agree with.

What the session covers

Practical, rehearsed, and built for real workplaces:

  • Why people freeze, and why that is a normal response rather than a character failing
  • The difference between intervening in the moment and following up afterwards
  • A simple set of options, so people have something to reach for under pressure
  • Low-risk interventions that work when direct challenge feels impossible
  • Supporting the person afterwards, which is often more valuable than the moment itself
  • Practising with realistic scenarios drawn from your sector

What is included

Every booking includes the following as standard:

  • A scoping conversation beforehand, so the session fits your organisation and your people
  • The session itself, delivered online or in person
  • Slides and any handouts used on the day
  • A practical takeaway so people leave with something they can act on
  • Time for questions and discussion, with an option to gather questions anonymously in advance
  • Accessibility considered throughout, including captions online and materials in advance on request

What your organisation gets from it

  • Colleagues who have actually rehearsed a response rather than just agreed it matters
  • A shared language, so intervening feels normal rather than exposing
  • A practical contribution towards your prevention duty on sexual harassment
  • Fewer incidents that escalate because nobody said anything at the time

Formats

This training can be delivered as:

  • Lunch and learn, a short session that fits into a working day
  • Half day workshop, the most commonly booked format
  • Full day workshop, where people work through the material in depth
  • A programme or series, for change that needs more than one session
  • Train the trainer, so your own people can deliver it afterwards
  • Online or in person, across the UK

Often booked alongside sexual harassment prevention training. Get in touch for a clear figure with no obligation.
